Joan Combs Durso has taught at Fordham University, Penn State Great Valley, Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, Bellarmine University and online for Kentucky Community and Technical College System. After two years on sea duty, she completed active duty and reserve assignments in contracting, analysis and logistics. Dr. Combs Durso also spent four years as a financial analyst at UPS Air Group. She has taught at Sullivan University since 2009 and full-time in The Graduate School since 2010. Her research interests are in applied microeconomics, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes, public policy, the economics of pre-hospital health care, and the benefits, wealth and employment status of veterans. Her current grant-funded research project is on veterans’ use of their home mortgage benefit. She has been a volunteer CPR instructor and NREMT-Basic.
