Dr. Raines specializes in helping organizations proactively address common sources of conflict, including disputes with employees, customers and regulators. Her book, Conflict Management for Managers (John Wiley & Sons, 2013), shares the skills, concepts and processes used to diagnose the sources of unproductive conflict and to create innovative changes through training, process design and hiring practices.

Dr. Raines has supplied collaboration, mediation, evaluation and program design services to the U.S. Postal Service, the United Nations International Organization for Migration, the Supreme Court of Florida, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Georgia courts and numerous private businesses.

In addition to her book, Dr. Raines is the author of Expert Mediators (with Jean Poitras, Rowman and Littlefield, 2012), more than 35 peer-reviewed articles, and is the editor-in-chief of Conflict Resolution Quarterly. Dr. Raines completed her Ph.D. in 2002 from Indiana University (Public Policy), where she studied under Nobel Prize winner Elinor Ostrom.
