Judge Joan “Toni” Stringer is currently an adjunct professor of torts and criminal law for The Institute for Legal Studies at Sullivan University. She served on the District Court bench in Jefferson County, Kentucky from 2000 until January 2009, when she retired from active status, and now serves as a senior judge, presiding over cases in district, circuit and family courts. Judge Stringer is also a former instructor for the University of Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute and the Kentucky District Judges College.

  • Member of the Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations, the Women Lawyers’ Association
  • Member of numerous boards and committees, including the Louisville Bar Association’s Leadership Academy and the Kentucky Council for Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse, and the Sullivan University Legal Studies Advisory Board
