Broadening The Horizon

External Research Funding

Drs. Katie Leslie and Kate Probst were awarded a 2019 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grant (SoTL) from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). AACP is the national organization representing pharmacy education, with institutional membership from the 142 accredited schools of pharmacy. Their project, “Evaluation of an Interprofessional Academic-Practice Partnership in End of Life Care”  was 1 of only 12 SoTL grants awarded nationally this year.
Dr. Probst has led the development and implementation of the Center for Health & Wellness community partnership with Hosparus. Central to the mission of the CHW, the purpose of this project is to evaluate this interprofessional academic-practice partnership in end of life care, examining student learning experiences, the value-added contributions of student pharmacists and a pharmacy preceptor into an end of life practice model, and patient medication outcomes.
